I live just outside of Boston and am looking to invest in a short term rental property in the North Conway area. 

Take 30k to Boston and I don't think you could buy a parking spot

Location is not inherently bad if you get the right value on the property and have the right expectation for the property and its tenants.Being close to a highway is good for some tenants (transportation ease) and bad for others (noise, view).

How close to major transportation or major roadways?

Economy is built on transportation and distribution and is built around the 2nd largest cargo airport in the world.

I live in Boston but I am looking to invest eslewhere in Rental Properties.From experience, I want to get so feedback from my BP fellow on what are the best states and cities in the mid-west or in the south to invest in Rentals and why ?

University District, Sherwood Forest, Rosedale Park, Indian Village, East English Village, Midtown, Boston Edison, just to name a few.
