The unit/half you live in would be treated as your primary residence, and eligible for the 121 exclusion tax exemption, after 2 years.  

You should call every one within 20 miles...so there is going to be a lot of calls you make.  

As rural as I have gone is 15 miles outside of a town of 25,000 and about 30min from an military base.
