You need a basic understanding just to sort out the folklore from facts.The only way you'll get a real education is to pay for it, not talking about gurus, mentors, coaches or business leaches that will partner with you, that will not be a true education.

They make it look better than it really is to help sell their fortune builder guru seminars and coaching programs.

For example: They didn't provide all the coaching as described in the offer or they took too many payments from your account.

If i was in your position, I would continue to build on your relationship with your old landlord for advice and coaching while developing relationships and an investment strategy in your current home town/local market. 

I then even went so far as to purchase the coaching course (very expensive) and to be honest it was disappointing.
