Depending on the carpet you should be able to get it done for $1.25 to $1.50 a square foot.  

Because I don't have plans for the house yet I only got a very rough price at $350/square foot.

Neighboring Manhattan Beach is the most expensive area in terms of price per square foot in Los Angeles County, so it's not looking good in that direction.
