Of course having success in another industry helps, but there is a huge difference between being promoted within a fortune 500 company and understanding the risks of a multifamily project.  

There are many in the forum which feel and promote that can be gained from reading posts, etc. 

I like mine on spring cycles as well and recently included utilities in one unit rent to entice the resident to sign an 18 mo. lease to get them on a spring cycle (and make them a longer-term resident).

Some ways you can improve your search ranking is opening your calendar 1 year in advance (there is a setting for this), having instant book on, and applying promotions (this has to be done manually).

So you can get a lot of good advice and some specific details of how to invest in many states here.They can be very good investments but they are not as easy and risk free as many that promote them would imply.

In commercial MF syndication, it varies a bit but General Partner earnings commonly revolve around 3 things; acquisition fee, asset management fee, and the promote (profit split).
