It's not that diversification is wrong, his point being if you know the market drivers and cycles then focus on ensuring you're the most knowledgeable and you will come out further ahead than if you diversify.

Servicing the wells will require thousands of trucks and drivers to stay even after the drilling is done, but that is assuming that it is still profitable enough to run the wells.Good point Jerry, the towns do go through boom bust cycles so it might be worth the effort to find a town that has not begun the up swing yet or in the early stages.

The drivers for the economic downturn in the last decade don't seem to be repeating this time around.If there was a "correction" in Bay Area real estate, I would not be surprised if there was double digit decline.
