Short of wearing a fake ring and attending assertiveness training, I am not sure how to handle these kinds of situations. 

My little brother was stabbed 4 times with me trying to put his ear back together as it was split in half and the bottom half of his ear flopping down the side of neck macking sure hes ok, trying to help my buddys from being stabbed themselves with no success findind out when the ambulance got there that my brother was on the brink of death by blood loss and friend being slashed but not being able to feel it because of the adrenaline or see it because his clothes were covering his cut while shaking off the brass knuckle hits to the back of my head, i was shook.

Are your high end neighbors going to want strangers who are likely ringing heavily in and out all the time?

It's kind of like going to the superstore and the cashier forgets to ring out your big screen TV with all of your other items.

If there are other Buckeyes out there who have some advice for a first-timer like myself, I'm all ears.

I agree with @Andrew Boettcher that your PM should not accept partial payment next month - ie: they need to be fully caught up, past balance, late fee, current rent, otherwise I'd move forward with trying to get them out, first through reason (PM let them out and find a cheaper place for them), or eviction if that falls on deaf ears.

It might sound like music to your ears, but a lot of times they're just telling you what they know want you to hear just to get their foot in the door.
