@Matt Motil gave an excellent analogy about the crabs.In retrospect, the fact of the matter is that it's good for you to be able to share those experiences with this community which embraces your REI mindset.

I've found this to be an excellent selling tool.  

The members, forums, blogs and podcasts provide a wealth of information and excellent networking opportunities.

Since you asked about running into a problem with licensing, here is a great video with the Real Estate Board of Ohio, one  of the worst states to be a wholesaler (or LO'er).  

I find their technology platform excellent, unusual and cost effective pricing, and great responsiveness.
