I'm under the impression that if I employ a contractor for over 600 dollars a year I would need to issue them a 1099 and as such, I would assumer I would need to be under a 1099 for my parents, since they employ me.

I know this is a difficult market from a LTR perspective, but I continue to be drawn to the idea of buying a duplex/triplex and renting it out for a few years until circumstances allow for us to wisely relocate there (want to let a child graduate from high school and then figure out what the employment situation will be). 

I will still be contributing more than enough monthly to cover the mortgage, into my employer 401k.How do I make the 401k contribution monthly go toward the loan without incurring the penalty or tax hit?

Similar to where I’m at in life. 37yo two kids and 12 months now of self employment.

Have you spoken to other investors who have successfully employed your strategy and gotten positive feedback from them?

I provided my personal financial statement and proof of employment as well as my past 2 years of personal tax returns since I would be personally responsible for the loan payment but the bottom line is it is doable and majority of my local REIA group members finance their loans under their LLCs. 

Did unemployment for a few months until I was able to start working as self-employed last May.

My wife has recently received 100k from her employer.

We are getting a huge discount since we use this vendor on high volume flooring projects at my property management employer.
