Did the contract specify that you would forfeit your deposit if you backed out for any reason?

I have this in my lease that if tenant breaks lease they forfeit deposit.

I have no doubt that 60% more self storage clients are late this year, compared to 2019.However, only time will tell whether self storage clients are willing to forfeit their possessions by defaulting on their unit lease agreements.

Hoping that it doesn't pass or if it does hoping Trump will veto it after it is altered some by negotiation and not contacting your representatives to voice your opinion forfeits your right to complain about the results.

Of course, you have to be willing to forfeit the potential profit you have from appreciation.

The only time that is touched is when the tenant moves out and you conclude there are no damages that requires them forfeiting it.

If you don’t think that you will collect on a judgement or just don’t plan on going after them you could offer to waive their balance owed minus the security deposit to see if that would motivate them to leave on the condition that after a specific date the offer is forfeited.
