After being on the market for a long time and after numerous price reductions, I made my offer and negotiated a purchase price of $223.5K that was confirmed by the court.How did you find this deal and how did you negotiate it?

I've always heard there have been numerous big shiny new buildings built in town, this always is a concern of mine.

When dealing with large quantities of flooring or other material, I've heard of owners potentially going directly to suppliers/warehouses. 

Throughout this process we had numerous conversations.

The owner occupants are more numerous so they prevail over the investors regularly.

I looked at the non impact windows here at Lowes and Home Depot and the build quality looked very poor for the windows they had in stock.  Another recommendation would be appreciated. Block home, vinyl is fine. thanks. 

I have found the South Bronx market to be very, very interesting, as it is quickly transforming from a low income/ industrial neighborhood, to an upscale neighborhood complete with new parks, new transit options, and numerous 20+ story rental buildings.
