You can request an appeal on the value if you think they overvalued the home, and you can shop around for home owner's insurance, but unfortunately, these items do tend to go up over time.

If they have a lot of hits on their credit report it indicates they are shopping around for a credit cards, auto loans, personal loans, etc., and may be over-extending themselves.
