The thought behind these questions is this - if the company is a major player in your market, and has a location that draws people in (walk-in traffic) and you have the opportunity to take shifts "on floor" to work with those walk-ins, it could be best to be there.  

Want contractor to walk through it with them, create a reno budget (which, again, takes 3-5 hours to do properly  - even a "ballpark" takes a couple hours out of a day to drive out there, go through the house with you, and do a quick & dirty ballpark.).

Normally if I see the crew working I'll just walk up and introduce myself and ask to see what the inside looks like.

On auctions, generally there is no true way to estimate repair costs w/o walking the property, correct?  

Most do massive mail campaigns and walk the streets to find rough looking properties.
