Hi Kyle,Here are my two cents....La Pine gets a bad wrap around here but the reality is, most of us non-native Central Oregonians relocated here for the mountains, the rivers, and the 300 days of sunshine every year.  

My amazing mom (and maker) was a REA so all empowered women welcomed on this side of the Sunshine state

Not wanting to tell you what to do, but I think it's good to 'make hay while the sun shines' now while we can.

Everything's rainbows and sunshine going in, then it's the 1911 Hurricane in the middle. 

But this sunshine and rainbows idea you've got in your head after getting smoke blown up your butt by some lady ain't how it works in the real world.

Some people are unrealistically optimistic and figure they are immortal, everyone likes them, and that the sun shines every day. 

The first time I remember hearing the term sunshine tax was in the 1980s.It is costly to live in an area with near best climate in the US.  

The Twin Cities market has been steady, it's not likely to boom like some of the sunshine states but it also has a very diverse economy and is pretty affordable relative to other metropolitan areas that size, so it is also going to be more resilient to downturns.
