You are responsible for everything inside the unit, in other words what would it cost to rebuild the entire interior of the unit, flooring, paint, brand new kitchen, brand new bathroom etc.

rehab means rebuilding from 1 wall or complete rebuild  from scratch.

Because of zoning (light industrial) I only had 12 months to rebuild - I didn't.

Complete loss fire damage, and the home owners don't want to go thru the trouble of rebuild. 

We're planning on laying LVP/EVP or laminate, but I'm also rebuilding an internal staircase.My question is: for anyone who's run into this, how do you go about laying the floor for the stairs.

@James Free If you don’t trust insurance companies (who will be on the hook to pay for the damages of something occurs) then ask a couple local contractors to give an estimate to scrape a half burned house off its foundation and rebuild it.

If a property burned to the ground and you were left with a vacant lot, what would the value of that lot dictate that you rebuild?
