Rochelle is the geographic middle between our two jobs.Not as much opportunity in Rochelle (pop 10,000) but I'm:15 mins from Dekalb 25 mins from Rockford Adjacent45 mins from Naperville/Aurora45 mins from LaSalle/Peru (Cassie's work location)1 hour from Janesville/Beloit (My work location)We're open to cast a wider net if the opportunity arises.Currently we're saving approximately $5,000 every two months for down payments and listening to the BP podcasts on our commutes.

So, I was able to locate a number of deeds and encumbrances, the notice is also listed there as well.

So without stipulating a location it is hard for anyone to say this can or cannot be done.  

Do you think that is accurate if the only difference between the condos is location?

There are a couple little houses (2bed/1.5bath) located close-ish to the college so I was wondering if they would be worth getting as a first time investor.

I think this might allow me to pursue a better deal since I would not be as worried about the location.

I still have to dig a lot on Gainesville s market to understand how the prices are on different locations of the city. 

But that is completely dependent on the location and condition of the property.
