We learned fairly quickly that a home this age comes with a lot of liabilities, being badly insulated, more prone to animal infestations (palmetto bugs, bats, squirrels, etc).

@Bryan MitchellAs you well know being from GA, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while (country saying). 

Those are unexpected and unplanned, and can be quite expenses.

What Legislation is being supported and likely to pass (for instance, rent control legislation will have a huge negative effect), etc.I am a proponent of using your intellect to have a vision of the next 10 years.Afterall, Squirrels know that if they don't gather than nuts and bury them for the future, they will die by the time the Winter is in full swing.If a simple Squirrel can calculate for the future, why can't we?

Maybe it's some other cause, like you don't digest something very well--and it makes you feel awful.Or maybe you can get some kind of medicine to make you feel better, because maybe it is not the house, but something else...like local pollen, or eating peanuts, or something.It could be anything--allergic to the neighbors dog, or squirrels, or etc...

I've had rattlesnakes, coyotes, foxes, pigeons, rabbits, squirrels, mice and a lemming. 

So all in, we had over 20k in unplanned cap ex within 2 months!
