If you live in an area that is high cost or not conducive for acquiring rentals, check out other large towns, medium cities or adjacent suburbs that you can drive to easily.

Hey David, I would look into medium term rentals.

Medium term furnished rentals (1-6 months) are perfectly legal, can command a rent premium similar to STRs, and are less management intensive than STRs so you might look into that strategy as well.
