I know it sounds silly but weekly or monthly payments just appeals to my psyche.Obviously due diligence is important but in your humble opinion do you think the idea has some merit? 

Account Closed- From the responses I see, fellow BPers are not saying your idea is without merit, only that within the REI spectrum it's not sufficient to gather any traction.

While I can't speak to the financial merits of the plan, it might be worth reaching out to owners of tiny homes who are renting them out on Airbnb to gain some strong and diverse perspectives.

This will save you a ton of time, by not doing it yourself, until you know there may be some merit in their offer.

But enough knowledge to buy one's first property- I'd say that's when you can confidently explain to someone who knows nothing about real estate, every little step of the process- which method you're using to buy/ whatever you're going to be doing with the property, and discuss the merits of your method over another, without backtracking or second guessing yourself, and be able to answer most "what if" questions about the process.

My teen even earned himself a Boy Scout Merit Badge in Home Repair at summer camp so he could help us out even more when he got back! 

Our job as civilized human beings should be to set aside our natural tendency towards tribalism and adjudicate all people and situations on their merit rather than our innate bigotry and stereotypes.
