Start with locations I'm most familiar with - Spend some time on Youtube learning about the different areas, and seeing which ones I'd be comfortable living in- When narrowed down, rent an Airbnb and try to spend a week in each place- From there, start talking to some property managers and networking in the area to find opportunitiesI grew up around the metro Detroit area, so that would be a good starting point for the research, expanding out to nearby spots in the midwest like Ohio.

Every system you try will have flaws, or you may salivate over a feature that appears in other software.Some familiar names are mentioned frequently: Stessa, Apartments.com, RentRedi, TenantCloud, Innago, RentManager, Avail, Rentec Direct, Doorloop, etc.I recommend conducting thorough research on each app online to understand their offerings, pricing, etc.

Connect with local investors through real estate investment groups, attending housing fairs, and speaking with property managers familiar with the LSU rental market.Good luck!

Overall I would recommend talking to other investors or professionals  familiar with the strategy and having a solid system for tracking material participation.  

I only look at properties the numbers work on (I’m primarily a buy and hold investor) and by the time we schedule the preliminary walk through he’s usually already found out a ton about the property if he wasn’t already familiar.

The only reason that it is the most expensive, is because it was the first coin and the one that people are most familiar about.
