Additionally you can have grandfathered items on old buildings that once they break even if they could be repaired the code says they have to be replaced and brought up to new standards.I know some investors that invest in student rentals.

Not sure about local code but I would imagine they needed town and/or utility's permission to do the install and maybe validate any credits/rebates, so I missed...7) see if local utility or town have a record in their old permits, then call installer.good luck.

Systems which use prepaid cards or member cards/codes are better for the landlord (less incentive for theft), but are even more costly - unless your building is sufficiently large, the costs may not be justified.
