The upstairs neighbor complained of hearing loud noise from the TV very late at night from my tenants back in 2016.

But, consider not only the extra work involved on your part and extra liability risk, but also the extra wear and tear, and the relationship you have with the neighbors (think about the impact of additional noise and increased traffic).A tenant tried to run an unlicensed day care out of one of our units and we put a stop to it before it got off the ground.

The purpose is to prevent people form grinding bones down the disposal or putting tons of food down the dishwasher.

This is the more expensive option up front, but I'm concerned about noise. 

Life is a grind, man. 

A tenant texted me and said the electrical outlets in her walls were making a "clicking noise."

Don't listen to the noise.

You recommend something that will eliminate noise better.Be clear on the how likely or not the estimate you give may have additional unforeseen costs, make sure they understand that agreeing to it in writing or that it's reflected in your estimate, and how much in contingencies they can afford.Be up front if you're going to accept other jobs while doing your clients so if you're not present a given day it's not a surprise.Educate clients well so they understand what to expect, what is and isn't possible as to not take it out on you later.

The worse is late night issues especially late night noise complaints.

I have a triplex I plan on renovating to make 3 STRs over the next few months (with lots of noise proofing between units), but I don’t have any experience yet.
