What "Goodies" were in it.Apparently you survived the encounter--you might not have with everyone.Maybe your potential renters are seeing something in/about these men that you are missing.Maybe it's as simple as a gang hand sign, or a gang method of dress, hairstyle or color of clothing.Maybe it's some particular 'Body Language" of the "Street" that you are totally unaware of.Maybe it's the pronunciation of a certain word that clues them in.People from the area also may know one or more of these men and know their past history and present "Activities" but not say anything to you about it.Some of these areas in Los Angeles are extremely well kept up--but still have bars over the windows--for a reason.Good Luck!

For the condos we own in FL, it's very expensive to move in, because the associations charge an application fee (we don't), plus fees for common area keys, parking sticker or gate transponder, and now they're also charging their own security deposit for any damage to common areas.

Sadly we have encountered this and worse - plumbing run on the cold side of an insulated wall - in properties we have purchased.The dripping faucet is the "common knowledge" with which we all grew-up, however in extreme cold you need a steady stream (dribble) of water to provide enough volume to slow the freeze, even then a prolonged bout of extreme cold (say a week between -40 & -10F) the pipes will eventually freeze through.
