From my experience, success in real estate investing starts with clearly defining your goals and continuously educating yourself through podcasts, books, forums, and courses.

What are the best resources / tools to get connected/educated on this type of asset?

EDUCATE YOURSELF - yes, it will take time, but will lead to a selection that better meets your expectations & avoids potentially costly surprises!

I receive emails from them frequently, but I have not had time to really go back and try it again. 

However, I find I usually have to do a little more education or hand-holding up-front with them (because there can be a lot of things they don't know- whether it's about how Airbnb / VRBO work or what the rental process is like).
