Hello, I purchased a home in Michigan and am entertaining sectioning off the lower level as it's own apartment, and renting it out to a tenant below.

If the property is not being used and is a liability they might entertain the thought.

We have had some of the Big 5 unwilling to entertain refinancing inside of 90-days; others who were happy to refinance after 40-45 days; and some lenders who would re-finance at 30-days - this is assuming you financed at the time of purchase.  

If you list your 3 bedroom house for rent at $1400 and the bf only has a 1 bedroom voucher for $750, the housing authority is not going to entertain that arrangement unless you want to drop your rent quite a bit.

The way you're doing it invites risk - unless you're doing it strictly for entertainment.

We just completely redid the house we bought 1.5 years ago (totally redone kitchen, bath, flooring etc... and we're now working on creating a built in entertainment center) It was pretty fun seeing the house transformed.

I've found the podcasts to be tremendous and entertaining!

I considered AirBnB, but the unit is not furnished and I simply don't know enough about it as it to seriously entertain it as an option.

I am entertaining the idea of flipping a home or doing another buy/hold, but because it is such an expensive market, I am struggling to figure out how to best use the remaining ~25k left over from my first project's fundraising efforts.If anyone has any ideas for me to research or can help stir the pot for me, I'd really appreciate it.
