Because that property had a tree root that lifted the driveway about 2 inches, with a crack through the blacktop.

Also would not warranty a drain they cleared and treated for roots, after specifically paying to make sure I had the warranty.

Most didn't bother, but because of ongoing tree roots infiltration we replaced it all & added a back flow valve for an extra $450.

If I were considering up rooting.

I tend to buy where stable industry plants roots.

Mine has a clause that reads: "Tenant shall be charged for repair of drain blockages or stoppages, unless caused by defective plumbing parts or tree roots invading sewer lines."

The “funny” thing is, I found out about this situation bc last summer I had to replace the line well into my neighbors property because it was the old style pipe and had roots growing through it.
