But enough knowledge to buy one's first property- I'd say that's when you can confidently explain to someone who knows nothing about real estate, every little step of the process- which method you're using to buy/ whatever you're going to be doing with the property, and discuss the merits of your method over another, without backtracking or second guessing yourself, and be able to answer most "what if" questions about the process.
