It's possible that military housing was made available to civilians.  

Interesting take on navy fed and VU, I did good with not falling victim to the car dealers etc so thanks for the heads up as I dont want to as a civilian either .

A CARES Act withdrawal is a one-time withdrawal of up to $100,000 that participants can make from their civilian or uniformed services account.

Civilian aviation pays peanuts for the first 5 years, FYI (~$20k-$40k/yr), and once pay gets good, it'd keep me away from home just as much as the Navy.On the other hand, my wife is a successful real estate agent of about 4 years and is opening her own brokerage (the Navy would make this near impossible to sustain). 

Have you considered looking for a value add multi-family that is in habitable condition at purchase?

Just a civilian CFI, but I used to work as a defense contractor for some of the military brances in flight test, etc.

Not only the military members but government civilians, contractors, laborers, etc... all have opportunities and they are not going away.  

Especially if it was not in habitable condition (e.g. raw land or under construction).The clock starts when you move in and begin using the property as a residence.

I was under the assumption that most, if not all brrrr properties were inhabitable.
