I recently earned my real estate agent license in California, and I'm just one exam away from becoming a licensed architect here as well.

I believe CA market in general is expected to increase by 4-5% but SF is unique.

Thats over 5X your current rent per month so you have to ask yourself do you want to live in CA for the rest of your life?

Here is a list of what adding ADUs in my CA market is typically a poor RE investment:1) The value added by the ADU addition is often significantly less than the cost of adding the ADU.
