I think that this gives me pause give pause as I was previously looking to invest out of state in the larger cities that merely had the best price to rent ratios.That said - the article does point out that some of these cities ARE gaining in population, due to things like immigration.

But you were smarter than "the crowd" and quickly paid down debt on your LOC to $550K, still had positive cash flow despite having to lower your rents because unlike the guy with a mortgage, you had options, a competitive advantage in the market because you could always just press the pause button by making the interest only payment until the storm passed.

That gives me pause enough to wonder if I've overlooked opportunities and dismissed my area too quickly.Still, as @Haim Mamane Palman  insightfully observed, I'm the type prone to analysis paralysis.

Some terms are obvious, but so infrequently used, even those with experience pause to recall - - just today TILA showed up and once wikied it  was so obvious Truth In Lending Act :grin:A common glossary would (hopefully) help avoiding member created acronyms just because they are unfamiliar with existing ones.

You should be glad that this caused you to pause for a moment.Unfortunately, you cannot make the problems of others your problems.

If you get a higher deposit, don't designate it as pet specifically, so you have more flexibility to use the entire deposit for anything that needs attention.The new carpet makes me pause, but we have done that in the past.
