One slip is like renting an 6' (3' on each side) X 20' deck on floats anchored.....we will see....I just mess around now, having partnership interests and note/conduit relationships with seasoned business folks, those I have known for years.

It even sounds more professional, IMO or you could say a "private commercial lender" to differentiate between sounding like a bank and an individual.Because there are strategies in RE investing that are anchored in truly privately financed transactions, seeking money from granny, or your dentist or taking on a partner I'd think that one who was in the business of lending is not only not a private lender but is, to a degree deceiving borrowers at least initially who may be seeking a private lending/partner.

Robin Grimes, I did a double take at the title, as I JUST did this with a high end tenant that needed to move quickly (relocation).Grateful for the sage advice John and Michelle added.I gave him access to a closed garage, and didnt give him keys to the main house as an anchor to ensure we wouldn't have problems with him changing his mind and wanting his deposit back.Worked perfectly and seamlessly.

Had I thought of it 20 years ago, I'd probably be out there.But, I'm not understanding getting out of your own home and being a landlord, you'll still have land anchors with the rentals, even with a PM.

Jon, you might start with the FDIC, RTO web site.Not sure how big Emerald Isle is, not that sure chaing down investors in China would be interest in the small stuff in a smallish town.The tenants, as mentioned are prime suspects to anchor a deal.
