Yep, if he has a small side-gig business or a living trust, those legal entites can also contribute to the max.You can do a Roth with this money only if it was earned income as contributions can come from only two sources outside of the Roth: earned income (not dividends, interest, rental payments, lottery winnings, black market dealings, etc.) or rolled over from another retirement account.
