@Terri Hoffort:Hi Terri,It might fit into the neighborhood better, if a lot of people also have railings--or start a neighborhood railing trend.And the under porch fancy stuff, typically gets nailed on from behind the porch floor beam vs in front of it, and the bottom should miss the dirt by a few inches to prevent decay.Access--there is usually a window in the basement you can get through under there, or have one of the sides hinged so it swings up out of the way, because if leaves accumulate under there you (might) want to remove them.Good Luck!
