However, if you choose to report interest as part of the canceled debt in box 2, you must show the interest separately in box 3.So, This is positive again.There is other language here that says that a 1099-c issuer is not obligated to report Fees Fines & Costs (Such as late or extension fees) but there appears to be no prohibition against it.

Not all pre-paid cards allow ACH debits though so make sure they check with the card issuer first.
