If one is a smoker and both are borderline hoarders that screams $$$ to me.

I was screaming at my computer screen when the bidding was up to $25,000 a few weeks ago on an HOA foreclosure that had a mortgage for WAAAAYYYY more than the property was worth.

It'll be a regional bank doing them for a loss to build karma, or to check Community Reinvestment Act boxes, that sort of stuff... still kicking and screaming, but they'll do it, they have some incentive other than making a buck on that particular loan (they won't). 

It seems like everyone wants to look at the $100k ARV house they bought for $70k and scream "look at the $30k in profit".

It screams DIY instead of rehabbed and ready.
