There is a 2 acre parcel near me , there is a private road right up to the property , all adjoining properties have an easement .

Inside there are holes in the roof upstairs with water coming in, very questionable flooring and sloped/uneven surfaces, mouse droppings everywhere, etc.

Good idea, I should have mentioned the surface is too uneven to lay surface material on. 

They are very hard to find in Kissimmee, but they surface periodically. 

Fast forward I get out there to find the mold, is on the surface and easily wiped off.

I'm only scratching the surface with all of the forums and educational material here. 

It so happened that a man out of the area owned the property adjoining and contacted me saying he was not aware the land was for sale and would I sell to him and I did taking a small profit. 

I had one apartment that was so bad I had to replace the HVAC ductwork, the HVAC, the carpet, the ceiling tiles and repaint all the surfaces, plus put in an ozone machine for several days!

Is that counter top solid surface?

half an inch is enough to carry live loads, why do you need more if sub surface is compact?
