Basically a wide strip of the wall, spanning from the back of kitchen cabinet, to the 4' wide shower in the adjacent bathroom, all the way to the stack has to be opened up to replace the pipe.Secondly, if I replace my pipe, and knowing my neighbor's is also "near death", I can't honestly be happy with myself if I didn't replace his, or at least give him access to replace his at the same time.

If in between point A and B there is a branched fitting, like a WYE or a TEE, the liner would span across and block that branch, and they have to come from the branch and cut a hole back through the main.
