So its definitely not a "hack" and requires a lot more work then other marketing channels. 

I agree with @Nicholas L. regarding the house hack strategy. 

Now, the older, house-hacked duplex comes on the market as a rental, lowering rental prices as another option available.Someone else moves out of their rent by the room unit, and upgrades to the duplex.

I think house hacking with a VA is still well worth it. 

This is a similar story for house hacking a single home and renting by the room. 

We have a duplex in Norfolk that we house hacked.
