Had a thought the other day and wanted to pass this along ...I participated in a thread recently where the topic of Uber and Lyft drivers came up.

A little about myself I'm currently a truck driver, business owner of a sweeping company, Marine veteran, and family man.

I get copies of driver's licenses from people when I do certain things that involve money with people I just met. 

Now, as far as I can tell, that doesn't mean that LAND doesn't gain value, just that the building hasn't.What I find myself wondering is if this is true for multi-family rentals or commercial / retail or if those markets operate on an entirely different set of economic drivers closer to what I am familiar with?

If the neighborhood is bad because it's in a sustained decline with no demand drivers in sight, I would stay away. 

You're in the driver's seat.

This has been a huge driver for us. 

Pay attention to the economic drivers if you are looking rentals.  

This means they are in the driver seat in regard to collateral and means even more risk in regard to a revolving line of credit.

In the meantime: try learning other skills like driving = become an Uber driver, learn to do home repairs = manage your own property.
