There are a few options.1.

We are budget conscious and don't want to spend much on the interior by going with a general contractors(that will be the last option).

I think the economy has a number of diverse employment options, lower prices than King County while still being within driving distance.  

Plus, many of the properties here are older and not exactly cheap.My other option is Tucson, AZ, where I’m originally from.

Other options include the BRRRR strategy, which allows you to recycle your capital by refinancing after renovations, or partnering with an experienced investor to scale faster.

Another option is to rent it out and keep growing your equity while someone else covers the mortgage.

@Berry Starnes, @Evan O'Brien Its really not a complicated process.Once you log on to your TSP account online; on the left tabs there is an option for TSP loan.

@Collin StewartSince you're PCSing to Columbia, SC, and have VA loan entitlement remaining, house hacking a small multifamily with a VA loan is a strong option since it requires zero down.

If you can make a conventional loan work, it’s likely a better option.
