It is easy enough to go through but I would just advocate having someone you trust on the front end of the transaction vs scrambling and putting the info together at the end.

This will cost more interest but may prevent you from scrambling to save your personal residence if the HELOC gets frozen or called due.

Then I have to scramble to figure out how to get watershed to give me a credit.  

I have a question for anyone familiar with the tax laws involved with capital gains tax.My father in-law has been scrambling to get his second home ready for market to sell this year because he believes he will have to pay capital gains tax.

Still scrambling to see what we can come up with.

For me, that's brand new, and I don't know how to deal with it properly; I'm much more accustomed to the whole "three part-time jobs and scrambling to make rent" scenario, but I'll gladly take where I'm at over where I was.
