Read Moore's law, the loss of hardware manufacturing is still being felt (semiconductor shortages etc)The diversity of cultures, ideology, economics, climate, topography etc.is immense.

The population has been growing here year over year over the last decade, it is home to The Ohio State University which has over 50,000 students that live here along with those that visit, and it also holds a diverse range of young professionals and traveling nurses to fill the demand of the multiple business corporations and hospitals stationed here.

If you want to diversity your stock portfolio then just buy some high quality real estate.

Diversity is key.

I guess not every market is as big or diverse as DFW, because I wouldn't even know where to start answering this. 

I'd also stay asay from small markets that are not job diverse if market crash but if you can't find anything I'd wait and strenghten your position for a crash.

We were previous hit most because of our lack of diversity.
