That's why we have zoning laws, building permits, architectural standards, even eminent domain when the government can take possession of private property.

Think about a stone veneer even four or five feet up from the ground that goes with the architecture, underlay the wire and grout the stone over.

I own my own architecture firm but have, on paper, generally kept my profits pretty low for tax reasons.  

So unless there’s a law that says only 2 family in the area maybe they don’t like the shed and it doesn’t have any architectural value to the property and if you make it look more like it fits in with the building and the surrounding property they let you do it.

These are tax-sheltered retirement plans just like at a brokerage, but with different plan architecture that allows for plan investments in alternative assets like real estate, stock of privately held companies, cryptocurrency, etc.There is a lot of great info on the topic here on BP.
