Investing (when done properly) unlocks the freedom of being able to pursue these experiences and the privilege of being financially free, and THAT is my "why" for investing.

Being an investor, that's really my passion for unlocking the value of this loan. 

I know you said you would "divide" it... but all they have to do is "accidentally" leave a door unlocked or open for too long and you can say good bye to your gear.Build the garage... it adds value to your unit and will give you a reason to have higher rents later on.

We REALLY like it because I can lock or unlock the door remotely (if they forget to lock it after checking out) and I can add or delete codes remotely.

When you need to get in, just unlock the hasp, hing it open so you can insert your key and get your money. 

First day of ad somebody called, told them the particulars, and the address, and told them to show it to themselves that the door was unlocked.

@Allen McGlashing, make sure you put in your lease a clause stating that if you have to come unlock a door you will charge $XX per instance.  

We can lock and unlock remotely with our phone no matter where we are.

Bill hit on it in his above response when he said that understanding zoning, (re-)development, political issues, rehabbing, marketing, etc, is the key to unlocking intrinsic value of real estate when the intrinsic value is not already equal to the market value...which in many cases it already is.And that kind of stuff you're not going to learn from reading an eBook or a full book...that's the kind of stuff you learn by doing deals and spending years gaining experience "in the field"...
