It is more modern (drywalled), larger than my other homes, and it it only brings in about 75% of what my top performer does. 

Going are the awnings, japanese blinds and front stone finish ( replaced by a,more modern stone).

Today I live in a very new, nice, ultra modern building with an entertainment area, nice landscaping, water fountains , lawn area, security etc. etc.

{The are especially affected by drafts}Material wise, EBB, is inexpensive:  $25 - $75 for a classic style heater; about 50% more for a modern heater with zigbee/Z-wave capability to tie into a house/unit-wide programmable thermostat or management system.  

The width was too narrow for any modern home.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t include almost all modern exotics.

Degradation is less than 1%/yr. on modern panels, with high quality ones achieving less than 1/2 percent/yr.

You won't be able to convert it into a modern floor plan and I think thats okay - I'd keep it authentic for the most part. 

The houses you are looking at are before the advent or wide use atleast of plastics that make up the pipes(PVC)and insulation around the wires in modern homes.

It really depends on how well you initially stock the place and how modern you want to keep it when technology and fashion advances.
