Maybe certain types of properties would work - warehouse, office, self-storage (hiring an operator).

There is big Amazon warehouse south of Hueytown which is driving some of the investment in that area (promise of new jobs).I would suggest you call a few local property managers and get a feel of the area.

Ex: don't buy a warehouse if you like SFRs.
