I have a good deal on a vacant house here in houston texas to rehab and flip, but the owner told me today that she was in jail for a year for drug possession.

I did purchase land in the past but all the development plans were completed already.My plan is to buy in a location that would lend itself to a bank, chain restaurant, drug store, etc. 

That felony drug possession was from the other guy in the car, and we didn't kidnap that girl, she hitched!

yep...there doing it to a bunch of bank owned properties here in the boston area...ive been in a handful of them...usually just in the basement...happens in the higher crime areas...the drug addicts are breaking in and stealing the cooper in the vacant homes since no one is there...

Some good comments already precede mine, but one thing was missed.What about those who start out as respectable, but fall into some "life situation" (drug use, health issues, financial difficulties, etc.) and suddenly need to increase income at any price - including the loss of what was once a good reputation?

I have no interest in working in the city since it is one of the most crime ridden, poverty stricken cities in the US. per capita, it has the highest drug, murder, and crime rate in the nation.

Up here in NY there hold us responsible for nuisances caused by the tenant, ex loud parties, drug activity, etc.
