I want to start building a empire to pass down to my kids and family.

My mom and her siblings were never interested in growing it but I’ve always loved real estate and want to grow it to an empire to support my family for generations to come.

Maybe look towards inland empire.

@Frank HarrisGiven the inland NW location and elevation of the new builds I’m familiar with, I highly doubt the water would reach the home from those canals.

Dodd-Frank has given sellers some protections in land contracts so if things go bad you would want to pursue that avenue. 

I think both programs will teach you the foundational aspects of getting started in land.
