I'd plant some trees or something that grows tall on that side of your property.

The bricks at the planting beds at the front door are a bit messy and there are vines in the back and some other plants near the AC that need trimmed. 

Not to mention its surrounded by old industrial factories that are abandoned, warehouses, power plants, water treatment facilities, shipping docks.  

The biggest employer in the area is the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant.

These are typically large costs such as property, plant, and equipment (PPE).

In 5 years (when my loan is due), I repaint the house, plant some flowers, and I'm moving on to the next opportunity. 

Have your lease state "no smoking of ANY substance".......If its legal in the state to posses, then you cant do anything.Growing is really a matter of scale..... people have "normal" plants, so you cant really stop them form having a few marijuana plants..... but you can state in your lease that you do not permit growing or heat lamps for "agriculture".......Again what your are really trying to do it protect your unit form damage....so keep all wording and items within that midframe

I have some ideas about the Intel plant in Hillsboro and there's something going in Beaverton too
