The west side has grown tremendously in the past 10-15 years.  

I have grown tremendously as an investor over the past 2 years and I have met some awesome people through this site.

He insisted that he wanted to keep it because "his kids had grown up there" (not a good reason) and "there will be good tax advantages to ownership" (if you consider losing money a "tax advantage" you are a sucker, and tax advantages when his kids inherit. ??

In summary though, my business has grown exponentially, I've had ups and downs of course, but I have more choices now than ever relative to what I want my next life chapter to look like!

Crazy how it's been 6 years I posted this question and how far along I've grown in real estate investing.

@Jay HinrichsI have grown up here in Dallas in the early 50s I have seen pot heads rob to steal to get the next fix, and I think Dallas is just as bad as any other city.

We've grown from around 20-25 to 494 in a little over a year, once we instituted the themes, etc...Oh, and the networking is fantastic.  

So first, a big thank you to all of you who take the time to help newbs like me.Second, a little about me: I am a 33 year old 9-to-5er (CPA) with a wife and a young child (another on the way), who has slowly grown tired of the Corporate America thing and have been studying real estate investing for the better part of a year now in hopes of making this my livelihood down the line.

Simply because they are innocent and cannot help themselves like a full grown adult
